Description
Lupines are local opportunists that love disturbed sites and can root in almost any soils from sand to loam. Lupines and Roses depicts a window casing of a glass pane in which the plants in glass vases reflect and refract the blooms and the stems. This is an inside out, outside in, oil painting that brings the lupines in from the mountain meadows to you, as you look outward through the pane of glass. The water in the vases glistens and distorts the stems with an effort at transparency. And the wooden window sill also shows the muted sunlight through glass of both window and vase.
