Description
The story of Hope of a Child, reflects my experiences as a child in the desert of Pakistan. This oil painting is about sustainability, hope, the love of beauty and the nurturing of nature. To thrive above all adversity. I used to play alone with my dolls in a compound of 4 families from all parts of the world under the Colombo Plan. Holding tea parties with my dolls between the bed sheets of laundry that were hung in the drying desert air. The mongoose would run head to tail across the lawn, under the tea table, upsetting the dolls and tea cups. A cobra might be found basking in the heat on a patio. We lived in houses made of mud (desert mud bricks). And so it was…..Hope of a Child seeking to create beauty in a desert garden.
