Seventeen wild horses were shot and killed in B.C.’s Interior in 2023.  The RCMP are investigating.  The horses appeared to be from a herd of feral (wild) horses.  We don’t all understand the motive for this sad event. The police acknowledged that the horses were of cultural significance to the local Skeetchestn Band.  This is the story behind the painting.
