South African cultural oil painting of a fruit that Monkeys in South Africa will eat. These gourds are the fruit of the Strychnos Spinosa Tree also referred to as Spiny-Monkey Orange or Green Monkey Orange and it’s a favored meal among monkeys and other animals. The monkeys spread the seeds as they roam about in the South African landscape. Harvesting the trees of their gourds/fruit and turning them into hand-painted products to sell to tourists or otherwise as art pieces, employs the villagers and prevents the trees from being cut for firewood.  Copywrite, TM.
